Abstract

Deuteron magnetic resonance spectra have been recorded for a number of deuterated ammonium compounds at 4.2°K. The spectra of two of these materials, ND 4SnCl 3 and (ND 4) 2 SnCl 6, were narrow (linewidth 4 kHz) in contrast to the broad (linewidth 130 kHz) deuteron spectra of rigid ND + 4 ions observed in most of the compounds. The narrow deuteron spectra are attributed to tunneling.
