Abstract
Transient radical cations of cyclohexene and 1,4-cyclohexadiene are characterized in pulse radiolysis in liquid hydrocarbons. Time-resolved fluorescence-detected magnetic resonance allows observation and EPR spectral assignment of these very short-lived radical cations. The olefin radical cations are created by charge transfer from saturated hydrocarbon solvent cations to the solute olefins.
