Abstract
AIM: To date, few studies have been conducted to determine whether T cell receptor (TCR) variable regions (V)of βare involved in the clinical course of chronic hepatitis B. This study was performed to assess the TCR Vβusage and clinical course of CHB and clinical parameters. METHODS: Fluorescence Quantitative PCR (FQ-PCR) technique was used to detect the TCRVβ subfamilies gene expression in the peripheral blood of 3 patients with chronic hepatitis B before and after being treated by Hejie Decoction, and clinical parameters (ALT, AST, and viral load) were observed in the same time. RESULTS: The percentage of TCRVb gene usage was determined during acute exacerbation and the remission stages. Figure 1 illustrates the percentage of TCRVb usage in the acute exacerbation and the remission stages. Those whose expressions were increased during remission stages compared with that during acute exacerbation stages were TCRVβ1(t=7.00, P
