Abstract

High spin states in $^{74}\mathrm{Kr}$ were investigated in the reaction $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$${(}^{40}$Ca,\ensuremath{\alpha},2p${)}^{74}$Kr at 125 and 140 MeV. A new decay scheme was established up to probable spin I=20. The rotational structure was found to be similar to $^{76}\mathrm{Kr}$, showing a double alignment in the ground-state band and sidebands with constant moments of inertia. Measured lifetimes using the Doppler-shift attenuation method indicate very collective E2 transitions in the ground-state band.
