Abstract

The difficulty of obtaining direct experimental information on pion-pion scattering is well known. Goebel and Chew and Low(1) have suggested a procedure to be applied to the process π + N + → π + π + N which involves extrapolating the experimental data into the nonphysical region, to a point at which the pion-pion cross section may be extracted with no theoretical uncertainties.
