Abstract

Open-gap n-type Hg1-x-yCdxMnyTe crystals have been successfully grown on CdTe substrates by the LPE method from Hg-rich solutions. Using the high-quality crystals with y=0.01-0.02 grown by this method, the authors have succeeded in observing the magnetophonon resonance oscillations and the magnetic quantum oscillations due to the Auger recombination process. These oscillations are analysed based on the modified Pidgeon-Brown model. In both types of the oscillations, the temperature dependence of the observed peak positions is found to be stronger than those predicted by the model which includes the temperature dependence of the energy gap Eg. The origin of their anomaly is discussed.
