Abstract

We observed the luminescence hole-burning phenomena in CuCl quantum dots embedded in a NaCl crystal. The burned luminescence spectra show a resonantly burned hole and much larger sidebands. The burning photon energy dependence of the Stokes shift of the sidebands shows they come from the charged excitons. This is the first observation of the charged excitons confined in quantum dots.
