Abstract

We report the excitation and detection of Rydberg states of He 2 with principal quantum numbers ≲ 25. The transitions were driven from the metastable (2sσ) a 3∑ + u He 2 state, and the excited states were detected using ionization techniqaes Q branch transitions terminating on npπ 3Π − g ( v = 0) states up to n = 25 have been identified and assigned.
