Observation of electrical effects with cavitating liquid flow

Abstract

Observations have been made under several different circumstances of the increased development of streaming potential with cavitating flow of high purity water. Two separate mechanism for this increase are proposed and shown to be consistence with the observations. The magnitude of these electrical effects and previous work with non-cavitating flow suggests that these effects could be important to erosion-corrosion problems with cavitating flow.
