Abstract

TDPAC measurements were carried out in Tungsten foils and single crystals using implanted181Hf as a probe nucleus. After proton irradiation at 25 K the trapping of a defect at the Hf probe was observed, which lead to a quadrupole interaction frequency of νQ=354(5) MHz. The defect could be identified as a W self interstitial forming a 〈100〉 mixed dumbbell with a Hf impurity atom.
