Abstract
This paper deals with coherent optics uses of refractive index variations induced in single mode silica fibers by strong laser pulses. Investigation of the generated wide band frequency modulated signals will be performed by introducing time resolved coherent spectroscopy: a new powerful tool of picosecond optics. Principles and first experimental demonstration of microscopy are demonstrated as new special applications of linear frequency modulation of optical pulses: picosecond temporal structures will be imaged in the spectral domain of optical frequencies. Conclusion gives intuitive representation of soliton propagation through nonlinear single mode fibers.
