Abstract

The mixed boundary value problem associated with scattering of obliquely incident water waves by a flexible porous barrier of different barrier configurations is considered here. The originally defined half-plane problem is converted into a quarter-plane problem. Then a novel connection is established between the solution potential of the converted problem and a resolvable potential in the quarter-plane. Further Galerkin approximation is used to obtain close bounds for the reflection and the transmission coefficients. Numerical results are presented for scattering quantities against various parameters in each of the problems under consideration.
