Abstract
The present paper attempts at a short reconstruction of the fascinating history of mutual relations between objects-things-for in the historical narration of the humanities. Various concepts, mostly of a philosophical nature, are juxtaposed with ideas of one of the most controversial philosophers of culture (especially his early, structuralist work) Jean Baudrillard.
