Abstract

This paper presents the current state of a research project for the design of data processing systems (combined software and VLSI) based on an Object Oriented System Analysis. Our enhancement of the term “object oriented” is explained in this paper. Finally, the requiremetns of the Object Oriented Analysis tool are described and suggestions are made for the implementation of a hardware and software design toolbox. A new approach is introduced for the structured analysis of data processing systems. This approach is based on decomposition of the problem into “problem domain entities”, which is a form of Object Oriented Analysis.
