Abstract

SUMMARY A component-connector-based description for a design object, because of its simplicity, finds a friendly host in an object-oriented programming language. The description not only matches a top-down design process but also provides a knowledge framework with function behaviour and structure. Thus a tiny but versatile assembly browser is initially implemented in Smalltalk/V through a multigraph data structure.
