Abstract

Research and commercial surveys suggest that object-oriented (OO) approach strongly supports technical design and coding phases of software development but poorly supports functional analysis phase. In other words, the design is good, analysis is poor. The source of this weakness is often attributed to fact that UML representations have not been effective in large-scale projects for context and communication.
