Abstract

Recent evidence suggests an important association between obesity and several cancers. However, the possibility of a causal relationship between obesity and cancer, and competing risk factors are also being investigated. As such, several mechanisms have been proposed for different obesity-cancer pathways. In addition, the benefits of cancer patient weight loss and physical activity have also been noted. As the ramifications of obesity and overweight adults continue to provide challenges to our society, increasing attention is warranted to more comprehensively investigate the association between cancer and obesity.
