Abstract

The lipids of the milkweed bug Oncopeltus fasciatus were analysed at three stages of its life cycle and qualitative changes were observed.1.The neutral lipid fraction consisted mainly of triglyceride which decreased with age.2.An unidentified sterol was found.3.Lecithin and phosphatidyl ethanolamine were the major phospholipid constituents at all three stages.4.The fatty acids fractions were characterized by their high content of unsaturated acids.
