Abstract

OAC Kippen is a high-yielding six-rowed spring barley that is particularly well adapted to the spring cereal growing area of southwestern Ontario. It is a medium-height, mid-season barley with good straw strength and mid-sized, plump, uniform kernels with a high hectoliter weight. OAC Kippen has good resistance to powdery mildew and some resistance to most other diseases of barley in eastern Canada.
