Abstract

In 2012, the IASLC/ERS/AJCC classification of lung adenocarcinoma identified different histological patterns, which own peculiar and well defined prognostic behaviors. More in details, the presence of micropapillary and solid adenocarcinoma patterns leads to worse survival and a significant higher tendency to recur. Moreover, to date, adjuvant therapy is usually offered in the majority of stage II patients and in high-risk stage IB patients. This study aims to assess the impact of pT descriptor combined with the presence of a high-grade component on long-term outcomes in early-stage lung adenocarcinomas.
