Abstract

ABSTRACT We report recent planning for community-based coorperation at Kyorin University Hospital by diagnostic imaging and comprehensive assessment. We usually have some case conferences for community-based cooperators. The absolute number of older patients is increasing as the population ages. A comprehensive measure needs to be developed to characterize the ‘functional age’ of an older patient to select the most appropriate treatment. Such a measure would include the essential domains including functional status, comorbid medical conditions, cognition level, nutritional status, psychological status, and extent of social support. The goal of the current pilot systems is to develop a brief yet comprehensive cancer-specific assessment measure in an oncology practice for community-based coorperation.
