Abstract
$^{18}\mathrm{O}$-induced reactions on $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$ and $^{54}\mathrm{Fe}$ have been studied at 48 MeV. The one- and two- proton pickup reactions were observed with large cross sections. Systematic and unexpected differences are found in the angular distributions to different final states. The reaction $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$($^{18}\mathrm{O}$, $^{14}\mathrm{C}$) $^{44}\mathrm{Ti}$ yields spectra remarkably similar to those found in the ($^{16}\mathrm{O}$, $^{12}\mathrm{C}$) and ($^{20}\mathrm{Ne}$, $^{16}\mathrm{O}$) reactions.
