Abstract
Introduction: The therapeutic use of autologous blood concentrates for tissue regeneration has been gaining notoriety in wound treatment. The bioproducts obtained from Fibrin Matrix concentrate platelets, leukocytes and can induce tissue regeneration. General objective: To evaluate the impact of protocols using fibrin matrix in wound treatment. Method: This study consisted of an integrative literature review with a qualitative analysis, the databases used for this study were: LILACS and MEDLINE; the PICO strategy was used to assist in the elaboration of the guiding question, after this definition, search strategies were established, using the descriptors (DeCS): ”Wound Closure Techniques OR Wound Healing AND Platelet-Rich Fibrin” and from MeSH: ”Wound* Closure Technique* OR Wound* Healing AND Platelet-Rich Fibrin”, 248 articles were found in total, after the inclusion and exclusion parameters were assessed, 9 articles remained which were the basis for erecting this research. Results: The results of this research point to the efficacy of the fibrin matrix being used in wounds, possessing autologous grafting properties, greater regeneration of injured tissues, paracrine action for cell activation and recruitment and aiding in pain relief, however, the technique has a wide variety of protocols described in the literature for its production. Conclusion: The use of Autologous Fibrin Matrix has proved to be effective in treating wounds and, despite the variations in the protocols for obtaining it, has been consolidated as a promising therapeutic option. However, more studies are needed to improve this practice in wound treatment and to propose the standardization of therapy in clinical networks.
