Abstract

This article investigates the use/abuse of psychoactive drugs in academic environments, since research indicates a significant increase in the recurrence of illicit drugs in public and private schools, opening space for reflection on the possible use/abuse in teaching. higher education, especially in the investigation of the effects of a neoliberal society that goes beyond the demands of results, thus inflicting new forms of malaise. To this end, a bibliographic review was carried out using the Scientific Electronic Library Online database, SciELO, Capes Periodicals, Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, Academic Virtual Library, Academic Google, as well as the theoretical foundation by the psychoanalytic framework. Through these resources, it was possible to verify that in the last ten years the population of working age, highlighting the age group between 19-45 years of age, has been using psychoactive drugs a little more than expected, considering the regulation and prevention policies. Thus, it was possible to build reflection paths about the possible reverberations of the results found, regardless of the agreement with a prohibitionist and legalistic perspective.
