Abstract

This article to investigate the relationship between the public power and the violence at football and to contribute in the understanding of the State as holder of the violence monopoly. The methodology used is based in the literature, in articles and in newspapers that announce events presents in Brazilian football. The Supporters Defense Statute was the state intervention more active in combating the violence in Brazilian football. Confirmed there is a relationship between public power and the football through laws that guarantee the paying public a spectacle of football with well-being and security.
