Abstract
This article seeks to reflect the obstacles faced by black people as researchers at the Brazilian academic scenario. This debate becomes complex as it crosses the historical tradition of Western science that places the black people in a position of subordination, object of research or else where there is no place in the academy, with the social imaginary about the intellectual being does not admit the black figure. In this way, this discussion is relevant to think about the democratization of research and science in Brazil. To this end, the dialogue of several authors dealing with themes such as the construction and maintenance of the functioning of Brazilian universities, anti-blackness, racism, black people in Brazil and the formation of the country had been made. We conclude, therefore, reinforcing the importance of declaring ourselves black, that is, becoming black in political terms, aggregating information and assuming its diverse social belongings as a mechanism to occupy spaces without being the target of the archaic project of whitening in this country.

Summary
THE BLACK-ACADEMIC AND THE TENSIONS BETWEEN THE WANTBEING-BELONG IN EXCLUDING SPACES
