Abstract
This paper aims to discuss aspects of the novels of formation (Bildungsromane) from the analysis of Jose Mauro de Vasconcelos’s autobiographical works (1920-1984): Doidao (1963), My orange tree (1968) and Let's warm the sun (1974). We seek as theoretical allies some commentators of the interdisciplinary theme that is based on Philosophy and Literature, such as Barbara Freitag, Cristina Pinto and Wilma Patricia Maas. The three works of Vasconcelos can be considered novels of formation from the perspective that the concepts are in constant movement, making that new characteristics integrate to the format of the Bildungsromane of the 21st century.
