Abstract
This research aims to study the link as a coherence element. Here it will be also understood as a strategic tool to sustain the opinion in press. Theories from the Textual Linguistic and Online Journalism will result in a contrastive analysis between two cultural contrastive news items: the Brazilian newspaper Folha Online (FO) and the German Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung Online (FAZO). Therefore the objective is to observe the treatment of the hypertextual link, which suggests contrasts in the discourse elaboration and coherence construction.

O presente estudo apresenta o link hipertextual como um fator de coerência e como uma ferramenta estratégica para sustentação de opiniões de determinadas instituições jornalísticas. O link como elemento paratextual no hipertexto noticioso fundamenta-se em três princípios: 1) fator de transitoriedade entre os interlocutores ou leitores e autores; 2) construção discursiva entre conhecimentos de mundo do leitor e da instituição jornalística, em um processo de retroalimentação permanente; 3) ilimitabilidade do hipertexto noticioso, visto que as possibilidades de busca por outros textos interpretativos são pautadas por elementos que fortificam a realidade construída pelo jornal e suas notícias, o que remete ao conceito de descentralidade ou mobilidade dos centros (LEVY, 1999, GOUAZÉ, 1999, MIELNICZUK & PALACIOS, 2001).
