Abstract
O.J. Sahler, M.D., FAAP, will join the Academy as the new director of the Department of Education, effective Jan. 1, 1995. Dr. Sahler will succeed Errol Alden, M.D., who has become AAP Deputy Executive Director. Her responsibilities will encompass the education department9s four divisions: the Division of Planning and Evaluation, which develops the AAP spring and annual meetings and CME courses, and provides accreditation for other programs; the Division of Medical Journals, including Pediatrics in Review and Pediatrics , as well as overseeing operations of the Pediatrics Review and Education Program (PREP); the Division of Sections, working with pediatric subspecialties and special interest groups, such as the Section on Computers and Other Technologies (SCOT); and the Division of Meeting and Travel Services, which arranges for meeting facilities and travel.
