Abstract
The O–H stretching vibration in proton-conducting superlattices of SrCe 0.95Yb 0.05O 3 and SrZr 0.95Yb 0.05O 3 was investigated by FTIR-ATR (Fourier transform infrared-attenuated total reflection) spectroscopy to study the proton dynamics. The O–H/O–D stretching vibrational bands were deconvoluted into two broad Gaussians, their ratios depending on the superlattice period. It is suggested that this ratio and the frequencies of these two bands depend on the ratio of the thicknesses of the layers and the corresponding distortion.
