Abstract

This study makes a reflection about the romance O filho eterno, of Cristovao Tezza, investigating the literary text as a place where the confluences between history, memory and culture are explored. In effect, this work aims to investigate the rewriting modes in which the author´s life history constitutes literary material. In the romance genre , the polyphonic contraposition and the individual problems concurs to a new configuration of writing that characterizes itself principally by a narrative that rememorizes the past in the present time, dialoging with several areas of knowledge such as psychology, anthropology, philosophy and sociology, among others. In the text , narrated in third person , the fictional and the historic interpenetrate themselves, showing one vision of world as from mental structures culturally built. The narrative ends establishing a new reality that obligates to a reflection about the relationship between parents and sons.
