Abstract

The Federal Constitution of Brazil provides that the elderly have a right to be inserted in society. This insertion ensures the elderly their dignity as human beings. Insert the elderly is a fundamental social right, as well as right to life and liberty, and is a achievement of the principle of equality. In the same way has the Elderly Statute, saying it is the duty of the family and society to act for their inclusion. In this prospect, the PUC Minas, as a social institution put into practice the project BarreiroDigital.br working with digital education for seniors. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the relationship between the digital inclusion of the elderly as a way to exercise the fundamental right to education. This makes it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the actions of the project in order to guarantee the elderly access to new technologies.
