Abstract

This paper analyzes the novel The man without qualities, by Robert Musil, who possesses a notion of essayism that acquires singular unfolding that surpasses the conventions of gender, since its conception of essay and novel is not related to the forms, but to the existential presupposition that determines them. Through the literature, the elective affinity articulates in two complementary fronts, History and Communication, since these two knowledges concern the reflection about the instances of interlocution and the limits and possibilities of the dialogue, being taken, strictly, as expression of cultural configurations.
