Abstract

The theme of this work was to define the importance of the Control System within the Public Administration. The types of control were pointed out, emphasizing the external control, as the main instrument of transparency in the public administration, highlighting the bodies that act in control, noting the relevance of society's participation in the composition of a more effective management. The types of control and their objectives were defined, presenting the guiding principles of these instruments, pointing out the implications of a management guided by control, as well as the effects of an administration with absence of control. To this end, mechanisms were exposed that help this management model, such as laws, public hearings, communication channels for citizens, among others. The evolution of management models was portrayed, highlighting control as a management tool to help achieve the objectives and goals of public administration.
