Abstract
Although previous studies had investigated information behaviors of nursing professionals, little is known about factors that influence such behaviors. This work investigated whether and how informational behavior during wound care varies with different levels of nursing education, from technical course students to nurses with doctorate degree. We have collected data from 566 participants with nationwide coverage in Brazil through an online questionnaire between January and February 2020. Variations were identified when nursing training is related to use of sources, frequency of obtaining and way of recording information during wound care. The observed differences reached up to 40% in information source use, up to 48% in obtaining frequency and up to 34% in way of recording information produced. The design and improvement of information systems involved in wound care must consider and accommodate differences like these.
