O 3,1 symmetry and the production of Δ++ at high energy

Abstract

A partial-wave analysis of the reaction π+ + p →0 + Δ++(1238) is presented in terms of the homogeneous Lorentz groupO3,1. Theoretical expectations on the momentum transfer distribution of the differential cross-section and the polarization of the produced Δ++(1238) have been compared with the experimental results as well as the predictions from previous works. This analysis reproduces the characteristic experimental features quite well.
