Abstract

Advances in technology has led to some of the negativity as relief in many areas of our lives. Especially mobile phones and the internet are the most widely used means of communication today, and their widespread use among young people can lead to very risky behaviors. Due to cyber-bullying, which is among the risky behaviors, hatred and threats in the cyber world also increase. Cyber-bullying, one of the subtypes of cyber violence, continues to be a growing problem all over the world, it is common for these young people to be exposed to and as well as behaviors they exhibit against their peers. From this point of view, this study is aimed to reveal the opinions of university students about cyber-bully behaviors and their exposure status and to determine the situation. For this purpose, the qualitative research technique will be applied and the views of the university students will be examined in depth. The universe of the research will be organized by Kocaeli University, and the sample will be composed of 10 students including 5 girls and 5 boys who are studying at Kartepe Tourism Vocational School. Students who are thought to have rich knowledge about the subject will be selected by the objective sampling method and taken into the scope of the sample. A semi-structured interview form will be used to obtain the opinions of the university students and the obtained data will be evaluated by the descriptive analysis method of qualitative analysis methods. In this study, it is not intended to generalize the data obtained from the nature of qualitative researches. However, it is desirable to present in-depth and multidimensional qualitative information through students' face-to-face interviews in the natural environment, inductive approach and interview format. As a result, it is hoped that it will contribute to the identification of the cyber-bullying that was experienced during the university period.
