Abstract

Nutritive values of Moina macrocopa, a kind of zoo plankton in fresh water, and residue of poultry manure, in diluted slurry of which microbes for Moina macrocopa were grown, were determined biologically with 369 8-day-old White Leghorn male chicks.A fresh sample of Moina macrocopa contained 95% of moisture. An air-dried sample contained 57% of crude protein, of which gross protein value was 97 with supplementation of DL-methionine at a level of 2% of crude protein. Available energy of the sample was 3.07kcal/g. Availability of phosphorus was 45.Available energy and gross protein value of an air-dried sample of the residue of poultry manure, which contained 25% of crude fibre, were low, being 1.31kcal/g and 40, respectively. The sample contained 4% of calcium and 2% of phosphorus, of which availability was 107.A system of recycling feed resources with zoo plankton as one of key roles was proposed.
