Abstract

기능의학(functional medicine)은 전통의학에서 질병을 중심으로 건강한 상태와 질병으로 나누었던 것과 달리 개인의 건강 상태에 관여하는 다양한 인자들을 지속적으로 관리하는 개념의 접근을 중심으로 치료하는 학문이다. 영양(nutrition)은 질병을 치료, 예방하고 건강을 유지하는 강력한 임상적 도구이다. 기능의학에서 영양치료(nutrition therapy)는 각 개인의 특징에 따른 식사 프로그램이나 영양학적 중재를 통해 인체의 기능을 회복시키는 맞춤영양치료(individual nutritional therapy)를 의미한다. 따라서 다양한 식사요법과 비타민, 미네랄 및 필수지방산 등을 이용한 영양치료를 기능의학적 치료에 적극적으로 활용할 수 있어야 한다.Nutritional therapy means that nutrients are used to treat diseases like drugs. In the 21st century, nutritional imbalance and molecular biologic correction have changed the meaning of past nutritional deficiencies. Various diverse and precise methods including NGS(Next generation sequencing) have been applied. Therapeutic methods have been studied in various ways such as individual oral nutritional therapy and non-oral nutritional therapy in simple diet therapy. However, whether these therapies are effective will require long-term research and various strategies for research.
