Abstract

1061 rural pre-school children living within a radius of 30 km. of Udaipur city were examined. Tribal children were more undernourished than non-tribal children but on the whole, both the communities were poorly nourished when compared with the national averages standard published by the I.C.M.R. reflected most in the weight and chest circumference, and less so in the length and head circumference. We are grateful to Prof. S.V. Singh, Principal, R.N.T. Medical College, Udaipur, for permitting us to carry out this study.
