Abstract

A number of nutritional causes of peripheral neuropathy have been identified. Patients who have gastrointestinal disease or who have undergone bariatric surgery are at risk, although frequently the specific cause is not ascertained. Vitamin B12 and thiamine deficiencies are the most common in bariatric surgery patients.
