Abstract

Increasing knowledge regarding nutrition, and dental and oral health is an effort for every human being in order to achieve a better quality of life. This community service program was carried out in order to improve the understanding of the oral health of the Aisyah cadre woman group in Pakualaman, Yogyakarta. Maintaining health during the post-Covid-19 pandemic requires improvements in nutrition and oral health. The women of Aisyah cadres in Pakualaman, Yogyakarta City, were on average elderly, but they still required health counseling to remain productive with their activities. Gingivitis can affect anyone regardless of age. Brushing teeth properly is one way to prevent it.
The methods of this program were counseling and education on nutrition and dental health, as well as demonstrating how to brush teeth properly. Community service activities were carried out in Pakualaman, Yogyakarta, attended by 35 Aisyiah Pakualaman cadres on March 18, 2023 with nutritionists and dentists from Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta as the sources. Evaluation of activities with a pretest and posttest about counseling material was conducted. It is hoped that this activity will serve as a catalyst for similar activities in the surrounding community to strengthen healthy behavior by raising awareness of the importance of nutrition and oral health knowledge. The outcome showed that the Aisyah cadre women had gained a good understanding of knowledge and education concerning nutrition, and dental and oral health
