• Knowing the nursing workload is fundamental to improve trauma care in the emergency. • Measuring the nursing workload is essential to adequately dimension the trauma team. • Severely traumatized patients require a high workload in the emergency room. • Patient’s oxygenation , bleeding and temperature control increase nursing workload. • Intentional self-harm trauma increase the nursing workload.
