Abstract

In summary, the goal in managing CHF is to recognise its occurrence and initiate appropriate treatment. While there may be a wide range of possible nursing diagnoses that have application to a CHF patient, eight essential nursing diagnoses have been discussed and outcomes identified: altered cardiac output; altered tissue perfusion; impaired gas exchange; fluid volume excess; ineffective breathing pattern; activity intolerance; hopelessness and knowledge deficit.
