Abstract
This book is aimed at nurses in the general high dependency area. As it states it is not a medical book but for nurses to develop observation techniques, intervention and support provision for level 2 patients. It flows well, covering six main areas of care: contexts for care, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular and abdominal aspects, and positive outcomes including the outreach team and rehabilitation. Refreshingly, the writers positively discuss areas such as end-of-life care and tissue retrieval, which are relevant to all nurses but not regularly approached.
