Abstract
This article is a follow-up to a brief presentation given to nursing home managers and Thames Valley University faculty of Health and Sciences lecturers on a personal experience of a recent nursing home placement over a duration of 8 weeks. The nursing home placement included rotation between two units, where one was a specialist dementia nursing home unit and the other a nursing home unit consisting of elderly residents with general health needs. This account will incorporate the benefits of the placement, challenges, proposed improvements and an overall summary.
