Abstract

Objective To explore the nursing of postoperative complications in patients with intramedullary ependymoma. Methods The clinical and nursing data of 117 patients with intramedullary ependymoma of spinal cord admitted to neurosurgery department of this hospital from January 2015 to June 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Results All patients occurred varying degrees of sensory deficits, motor deficits in 5 cases, infection in 3 cases, bladder and bower dysfunction in 2 cases, intramedullary hematoma in 1 cases, respiratory failure in 1 cases, and cerebrospinal fluid leak in 1 cases, respectively.All patients were nursed well before discharge. Conclusions Surgical risks and postoperative complications of intramedullary ependymoma is high, and effective nursing intervention is of great importance to control the complications.
