Abstract

Max Walter Albert Moeller, Jr. was born in Hamilton, Montana on March 9, 1928 and as a child moved to Illinois. He completed his education by graduating from the University of Illinois with B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees.On November 14, 1953 he married Lila Poetter. Six daughters were born to this marriage.During his professional life he was employed by Dr. Salisbury’s Laboratories in Charles City, Iowa; with the American Hoechst Corporation now headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey; and, most recently, as a research nutritionist with Miles Laboratories in Kansas City. he served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He coached girl’s softball.Max was a charter member of Mt. Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church and served this congregation in many ways through the years.
