Abstract

Thomas Morgan Ferguson, professor emeritus, Texas A&M University, died September 4, 1985, in a Bryan, Texas hospital. Ferguson was an avian physiologist in the Poultry Science Department of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station and Texas A&M University and an active supporter of the Poultry Science Association. He retired on August 31, 1979, with the rank of Professor.Ferguson was born on November 8, 1915, in Burnet, Texas. On August 28, 1938, he married Grace Evelyn Barnett of Palacios, Texas. They had four children, a daughter and three sons.Ferguson attended Georgetown High School, Georgetown, Texas. He received a B.A. degree in chemistry from Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas, in 1936; an M.S. degree in biology from Texas A&M College, College Station, Texas, in 1946; and a Ph.D. degree in zoology, biochemistry, and nutrition from Texas A&M College in 1954.
