Abstract

We proposed some numerical methods for the automatic proof of existence of solutions for variational inequalities, i.e., obstacle problems and elastoplastic torsion problems. It is based on Nakao's method by using finite element approximation and its explicit error estimates for the problem. In this paper, we present a numerical verification algorithm of exact solutions for a simplified Signorini problem in a computer. A numerical example for the Signorini problem is presented.
